Frequently Asked Questions

  • How do I schedule my first appointment?
To schedule your first appointment, new clients can call us directly at 612-688-5517 or submit an inquiry through our website. When calling, if you will be utilizing insurance benefits, please have your insurance and basic demographic information ready. Once you have made an appointment, you'll receive an intake packet to complete, which includes consent forms and questionnaires designed to provide your therapists with essential background information. Filling out this packet before your first appointment allows your therapist to focus on understanding and addressing your concerns from the start. When you call, we’ll ask a few questions to match you with the best provider for your needs, and if we’re unable to accommodate you, we’ll offer referrals to help you find the right support.
  • What should I expect in my first therapy session?
During your first therapy appointment, you'll begin by discussing your experiences, goals, and the areas you're seeking support in. This initial meeting includes a diagnostic assessment to better understand your needs and to establish a tailored plan for your ongoing therapy. You and your therapist will come up with a plan for how ongoing therapy services will be provided, including frequency of sessions.
  • Do you over online or remote therapy sessions?
All of our therapists have availability for in person or virtual (telehealth) sessions. Some therapists have specific days they are in the office and other days are telehealth only. Please call us directly at 612-688-5517 to learn more.
  • How do I contact my therapist if I need to reschedule or if I have a question?
All of our therapists are independent contractors and have their own preferred methods of being contacted. Your therapist will go over this with you at your first session, and we ask that you use the method of communication your therapist uses. If you have any questions or do not know how to contact your therapist, can call the main number at 612-688-5517 to get connected to your therapist. We strive to return calls within 48 business hours, meaning if you call on Friday, your call may not be returned until Tuesday.
  • How can I contact my therapist in an emergency?
At Vida Sana Therapy, we are an outpatient mental health clinic, and as such, we are not equipped to deal with emergencies of any kind. Please check with your specific insurance plan to make sure that services are covered prior to making an appointment. If you do not see your insurance company listed, you may decide to pay privately for services, or you can call your insurance company to inquire about Out-Of-Network benefits.
  • How much does therapy cost?
